Licensing
New DInsight products have at least 30 days free trial period (See
http://www.dynoinsight.com/ProDown.htm for the latest information). During this time most
of functionality will be available. A DInsight License is a piece of encrypted text which has to be stored on
the machine for software to work without the time limit and with full functionality.
Once released KernelCAD products are updated relatively frequently. It is
recommended to check for downloads at
http://www.dynoinsight.com/ProDown.htm once a month. Updates do not require
a new license.
Important: License is valid only for the machine, which
generated the request.
The license can be moved to a different computer.
To obtain a license:
1. Download and install the software from DInsight web site.
2. Use the software to open License Dialog. License Dialog can be opened by
using Programs/DInsight/"Your Product"/Licensing option from the Start
button menu on your computer. See also note below
3. With License Dialog opened press "Create Request" button. This
will open a dialog which will display encrypted License Request. Copy whole
contents of the edit box (Press 'c' key while holding Ctrl button) and paste it
into the first edit box of the License Request Form on DInsight licensing
web page.
4. Fill in the License Request Form,,
from which you can go to the secure gateway of our bank for credit card payment.
If you prefer different payment option, select "I will pay later" in the form.
Press "Submit Request" button on the License Request Form. If you have selected
"I will pay later" you will be presented with different options to make the
payment. 5. We will e-mail you the license as soon as we receive the payment, which
normally is matter of hours for credit card payments.
6. Open License Dialog again and paste text of the received license into the
edit box provided (Click into the edit box and press 'v' key, while holding Ctrl
button). Press OK. Restart the application. We suggest to make a backup
copy of the license by saving it in a plain text file. Note that you need to
have administrator rights to install the license, just like for any other
installation.
7. If you have already developed an application open the form or dialog where the
KernelCAD component is added in form designer or resource editor and force the
Development Environment to refresh state of the control by modifying a property.
For example: Select the control and toggle twice the ShowGlobalAxes
property. After that the "Evaluating ..." string will disappear from KernelCAD
window. License Transfer Procedure
To move license to a different computer:
- On the old computer run LUtil.exe application from the installation
folder.
- Press the button on the form of the application. This will create a
piece of encrypted text called License Transfer Request.
- Install the software on the new computer and generate License Request as
described in the previous section.
- Send both requests in a text file to DInsight.
- You will receive license for the new machine on the next business day.
