Texture disappears on drawing line

Hello all
I have another problem. In our app we load a vrml file with texture. It comes from a 3D scanner. We use l, c, x key sequence to sketch a line and trim some defects out of the mesh. The problem is that when I start drawing the line texture disappears. It appears again when I release the mouse and all works, but it is not good as we need to see some important marks and notations added to the texture.
This seems to be working OK for smaller meshes. Is there some limitation?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
